Meet the Owner
Hola! I’m Stephanie Ontiveros, a proud first-generation Latina and bilingual English-Spanish speech-language pathologist. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from Purdue University–West Lafayette and my master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Indiana University–Bloomington. While at IU, I also completed the specialized bilingual Spanish-English track, known as the STEPS program (Speech Therapy Education, Practicum, and Services).

With over five years of experience, I’ve had the opportunity to work with monolingual, bilingual, and multilingual children from preschool through 6th grade in public schools, as well as conduct bilingual evaluations for students through high school.I’ve also supported toddlers ages 2 to 3 through Indiana’s early intervention program, First Steps, providing therapy in both home and childcare settings during a key time in their communication development.

I’ve worked with children with a variety of communication needs, including receptive-expressive language disorders, speech sound disorders, developmental delays , fluency disorders, autism, ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), and specific learning disabilities.

I also support children who are late talkers, gestalt language processors, and those who use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) to communicate.
My personal and professional journey fuels my passion for helping children and their families communicate confidently across languages and cultures.

I’m based in Indianapolis, IN and hold Indiana licensure. I am accredited by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and also hold an Indiana Professional Educator License in Speech-Language Pathology.

Corazón's Philosophy
At Corazón Speech Therapy, I’m dedicated to providing meaningful and individualized speech and language therapy for children from infancy through school age, specifically ages 2 to 13.
I focus on each child’s unique strengths and build on them to support effective, confident communication.

“Corazón” has always held deep meaning for me. It was the name my mother planned to give me at birth. While she ultimately chose Stephanie, the name Corazón stuck, and it’s what my family has called me ever since. In Spanish, it means “heart,” and growing up, my parents always reminded me, “hazlo porque te nace en tu corazón” — do it because it comes from your heart. That message shaped my values and continues to guide how I approach my work every day.

I strive to create a space where children and families feel seen, heard, and supported across languages, cultures, and communication styles with care, respect, and a commitment to helping them thrive as confident communicators.
